Morning Mani/Pedi

Since it so gorgeous out today and we're taking a mini-trip for the Fourth of July to enjoy some fun in the sun, Little Bit and I thought we'd play with the Limited Edition Mary Kay Pedicure Set and nail lacquers!

First, we soaked our pigs in warm water using the Mary Kay relaxing foot soak...

By the way, moms, baby tubs are EXCELLENT for pedicures!

After a good soak, we scrubbed (not that Ada had anything to scrub!) and treated our toes to some lotion. I went with the Mary Kay Rosemary Mint Foot Balm, which smells AMAZING, and Ada stuck with her baby lotion. She's into the classics.

Then it was time to clip and add some color to those pigs!

Ada went with the Limited Edition Pink Sand Nail Lacquer and I went bolder with the Coral Stone!

And boy does that stuff dry fast! Which is good because somebody is learning how to grab things and put them right in her mouth so this mama needs fast-drying polish to keep up with this Itty Bitty.

This week only, get your Limited Edition Pedicure Set on sale for $19.80! That's cheaper than one pedicure in the salon and you can enjoy it all summer long!

Pre-Order Your Lashes Love It Bundle!

Want in on a little secret?

This Wednesday is a very happy day in Mary Kay land. It's the day all of the summer products are FINALLY available and believe me, I've been counting the days until I can get my hands on my own tube of the first mascara to be introduced to the already fabulous Mary Kay line-up in more than five years instead of drooling over my director's sample.

I'm a die-hard Ultimate Mascara fan so I was a little unsure about the new kid, Lash Love. As a lover of the classics, I find something I like and stick with it (this is good news for my husband, who I've been following around like a puppy since high school.) If it ain't broken, don't fix it, right?!

This is what I love about Lash Love:

1. It is great for summer!
The formula feels lighter on the lashes but still gives you full, even coverage that makes your eyes appear bigger and brighter

2. The wand is AMAZING!
It has bristles in many sizes that define the every lash

3. It is water resistant
Whether you're sweating or hanging out at the pool, you won't look like a raccoon!

4. It comes in black AND brown
Brown mascara adds richness to your lashes and makes them look fuller. Black mascara adds length. When I need my lashes to look flawless, I start with a coat of brown then add black to the tips. This creates long and full lashes.

To celebrate the release of Lash Love, I'm offering Lashes Love It Bundles. This exclusive bundle pairs the new Lash Love mascara in I Heart Black with one of Mary Kay's bestsellers, the Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover. Plus you'll get a free eyelash curler and 3 refill pads for FREE.

Pre-order your kit by Wednesday, June 15 and you'll get it for just $30 and a $5 gift certificate! Want it for free?

  •  Collect orders from 5 friends for the Lashes Love It Bundle and you'll get yours FREE

  • Collect orders from 10 friends for the Lashes Love It Bundle and you'll get a $100 Mary Kay gift certificate

O-So Nice Summer Makeup

It's almost summer  which means its time to switch up your makeup regiment a bit to accommodate that sunny-glow and the sweltering heat! Here are a few tips on keeping your makeup looking fresh this season:

Prime Time!
Before you get to the foundation, take a few seconds to smooth on a foundation primer. It goes on after moisturizer and like a layer of primer on your walls, it provides a nice surface for your foundation to go on flawlessly, giving you the most benefits from your foundation and extended wear. Mary Kay Foundation Primer, $16.

Switch to a darker shade of foundation so your color looks natural and not pasty
Mary Kay's Timewise Foundation won "Most Comprehensive Shade Range" in O magazine's annual spring makeup awards so I can help even the women with the hardest-to-match skin types choose a foundation. Mary Kay Time Wise Foundation, $20.

Try a tinted moisturizer or lip balm if you want something lighter for those hot days
If you don't need the added coverage of foundation, Mary Kay's lightweight tinted moisturizer gives you sheer color, added oil-free moisturization and UVA/UVB protection. Mary Kay Tinted Moisturizer, $18.  If you love a light face this time of the year, I also suggest the tinted lip balm. It gives you just enough color without feeling heavy and protection from the sun's harmful rays. Mary Kay Tinted Lip Balm, $13.

Dust foundation with light powder
Fight shine and set your foundation with a light dusting of mineral powder. This lightweight powder seems to make fine lines, wrinkles and imperfections disappear and it's transfer resistant so it won't fade midday. Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation, $18.

 Fake a sun-kissed glow
Even out skin tone and achieve a healthy glow by dusting mineral bronzing powder on your cheeks, shoulders and decollete. It's the perfect way to finish your summer look! Mary Kay Mineral Bronzing Powder, $12

Keep eye makeup simple
Simplify your look with a limited edition Weekender Eye Pencil. Create a fresh look using the pencil in White Wash to cover the entire eye. Top with a light dusting of mineral powder in Lemongrass (be brave, I promise it looks gorgeous!) and add a little definition to your crease with Hazelnut. Add a dab of White Wash to the inside corner and finish with mascara. It is so soft, pretty and fast!

Book your summer look consultation today and you'll receive this awesome discount AND a free Color Burst Eye Brush Kit (while supplies last) for your $40 purchase or more!

My Debut Party

Excuse me while I channel my inner Diana Ross:

"I'm coming out! I want the world to know, gotta let it go!"

My last day as a full-time working mama was just over a week ago and to celebrate the occasion and the grand opening of my Mary Kay business, a couple of my friends came over for a girl's night out (plus one guy.) We had some decadent desserts, oh-so-Southern lemonade and some much-needed pampering. Here are a few pics from the night!

Chocolate-dipped strawberries, tuxedo truffles and lemonade

Yum!

Washing the day away!

Guys love Mary Kay too!

The most popular item of the night was the microdermabrasion set. Being the do-it-yourselfer that I am, I have found this set to be invaluable. My OB suggested microdermabrasion to treat the pregnancy acne I am still struggling to kick but at nearly $700 for treatments at local spas, I couldn't even consider that as an option. I've been using Mary Kay's $55 at-home set for two weeks and I'm in love. My makeup goes on flawlessly the day after I've done a treatment and my skin is already clearing up. I've been taking photos each week and will share my skin's progress soon.

You should consider the microdermabrasion kit if you:
  • Have fine lines and wrinkles. 73% of users saw a reduction of fine lines after just one week of use.
  • Have dry or flaky skin. 85% of users saw an improvement in their skin after just one week.
  • Have visible pores. 71% of users saw pores that looked smaller after just one week.
